If you take a look at my body of work, I think the term "Photo journalistic" best describes me. There are some posed or produced shots, but the majority is relaxed, candid, emotional images.
I shoot in a digital format that can (and will) be used as Black & White and also color.
I welcome input from my clients! Unless it's something completely out of my field, I'm happy to try anything.
I prefer NOT to work from a shot list. I will do my best to accommodate any and all requests, however working from a list almost guarantees that I will miss a moment that I would have captured had I not been looking at a list.
Yes, Andy Hastings is the main photographer for Andy Hastings Photography.
My assistants and second shooters work on a contract basis and are not available before the event. But rest assured, I do only bring along the best and most qualified, professional photographers in the area.
I will only book one large event (like a wedding) per weekend. Weddings are way too much work, and I wouldn't want any of my clients to feel as though they didn't get my full attention at their event.
I use professional Nikon equipment. Depending on the situation I may bring along extra lighting gear if necessary. But my goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible in order to get the candid shots I desire.
What's film? I shoot in a digital format.
I don't use film, so there are no "Negatives". "Digital Negatives" or RAW files, are not images at all, but unprocessed files that require processing to become viewable. If you would like to negotiate purchasing the RAW files from your event, contact me.
That will depend on the number of images. I'll have them online for viewing usually in about a couple of weeks.
Yes, there will be a watermark on each image in the online gallery but any prints ordered will not have any marks on them.
That will be decided at the time the contract is signed.
Yes, overtime hours can be added on at $250 per hour. Extra hours that are added before the event are priced $200 per hour
Black. Like a well dressed ninja.
It depends on the coverage you choose. See my investment page
Yes, I am licensed, insured and pay taxes.
Unfortunately Winston Churchill is terribly afraid of my camera gear (as well as thunderstorms) and I try not to stress him out too much. He is also very "camera aware" so a candid shot has proven to be very challenging.
Absolutely, we love Facebook! We will upload any image you purchase (plus a few of our favorites) and if you "friend" or "like" us you can tag yourself and copy the album over to your profile. We provide Facebook images free of charge provided that you leave our watermark intact. If you prefer unwatermarked files they are available for purchase on our regular pricelist.
There are so many variables involved in the number of images delivered, I cannot make a guarantee. However, I can safely say that for a 6 hour wedding with 2 photographers, will yield approximately 600 images. Approximately 100 images per hour. Now if you have 30 people in your wedding party and have 350 guests that number will most definitely be more. If there is only 1 photographer that number will be closer to 60 to 70 per hour.
This is a question only you will be able to answer. There is a progression of trust however, that I do hope will occur. On my website there is a large gallery of my recent work. If the images there resonate with you, then we should talk. I want to hear about you, your family, your story. After all that, maybe the answer will be easy. I am not big on pushy sales techniques. I feel that it's important to let my work and my personality "sell" for me.
